Well, It's that time

Friends,

I have decided to stop blogging on Xanga.

Nothing against Xanga...I think it's just time to move on...to another website:

Holy crapola,

It's been a while. Let's play what is going on in Becca's life:

~Love the new car
~School has started...and it IS EASIER the second year!
~Been hanging out with a lot of work people...and church friends
~Went to Yall'apaloza yesterday (free tickets!) and ended up in the fourth row center because our school DARE officer was working there and he got us seats!

I actually feel like I have free time this year already, and that includes doing something with my church every week, being in two leadership roles at school, and rockin out every weekend. The only unfortunte is that I am really struggling to get my butt to the YMCA twice a week to be skinny (okay, not skinny, just not fat).

Jackie, since I think you are the only person who actually reads this, I am figuring out my schedule, and I will be calling you with a few weekends, probably into October also.

A long waited update...

1. Amanda's wedding was fantastic. She was beautiful, the ceremony went smoothly, the reception was quite possibly the funnest reception I have been to in quite some time. Mission Theater was fantstic (didn't hurt that the guys working there were cute either). Check facebook for photos

2. I just got my kids scores for state testing. Basically only half of my kids passed. I am really pissed because basically most of those kids who didn't pass, came into my room in August reading at a first grade (or lower) reading level. Clearly this is a problem. How are they supposed to gain that much in one year. It isn't going to happen. I know that there are things that I could have done better, but as a first year teacher, I was pretty much clueless. Thank god for the Safe Harbor act or something, it helps pass most of my ESL kiddos through the AYP process because they got at least 10% higher than last year. This makes me feel like shit.

3. My car is going to the shop sometime this week. I have a list of things that they are going to have to check, not to mention my brake light came on. I am scared to see how much this is going to set me back.

Someday I want to...

~ backpack around Europe

~ teach in another country

~ visit Africa, Asia, South America

~ visit every state ( 14 and counting)

~ live the American Dream - you know, marriage, kids, picket fence, dog

~ fix up my own house

~ have a real garden

~ find something to volunteer doing that makes a big difference, and that I love doing

~ not have to worry about work

But right now I have to go to bed so I can go to work and not be grumpy.
